SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Bethel College Volleyball team opened their 2023 campaign on the road at the Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by John Brown University.
The Threshers opened the tournament with a five-set thriller against Mid-America Christian. The Evangels took the first two sets before Bethel rallied back taking the next two, forcing a decisive fifth set.
The match began with MACU setting the tone, securing the first two games with scores of 25-18 and 25-19.
As the match progressed, the momentum shifted in Bethel's favor. Game three saw the Threshers' determination paying off as they clinched a narrow 25-23 victory. Game four followed suit, with BC once again seizing the opportunity to shine. With a final score of 25-22, they forced a deciding fifth game.
In a dramatic conclusion to an already captivating match, the Threshers and the Evangels locked horns in the fifth and final game. Despite Bethel's unwavering efforts, MACU managed to secure the victory with a score of 15-10.

The Threshers are back in action on Saturday August 19th as they take on the host school John Brown at 9 am before taking on Texas A&M Texarkana at 3 PM.
