NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - Using two first-half goals, the Bethel College men's soccer team took down the Southwestern College Moundbuilders at Thresher Stadium.

The Threshers' leading scorer,
Filip Maksimovic, got the scoring started for the contest in the 10th minute. Assisted by a headed pass from
Adalsteinn Kristinsson, Maksimovic found the back of the net for the fifth time this week.

Following a Moundbuilder equalizer,
Mussawir Ahmed put Bethel back on top. After receiving a great ball from
Louis Etienne, Ahmed beat the keeper to the near post.

Aleksa Oborina pushed the Threshers' lead to two in the 66th minute after
Lucas Pardo threw in a ball to the box that found the head of Oborina.

The Threshers outshot Southwestern 20(11) to 8(5) in the loss.

Bethel will be back in action on Wednesday, October 4th as they travel to McPherson College with kickoff set for 7:30 PM.
