NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College women's basketball team picked up a big win in regards to KCAC standings as they took down the Sterling Warriors 87-85 on their own floor. This win snaps a nine game losing skid to the Warriors with Bethel's last victory coming on January 20th, 2019.

After falling behind by 11 points, the Thresher women outscored the Warriors 9-2 in the final three minutes and change to trail by just four after the first ten minutes of play.

Bethel shot 80% from three point range in the second quarter as they knocked down four of their five on their way to outscoring Sterling 24- 21 in the quarter to trail by just one point at the intermission.

The Threshers came out of the break ready to play as they shot over 66% from the floor in the quarter while putting up 27 points, the highest scoring quarter for either squad in the contest.

Leading by five, 67-62, after the third quarter, the Threshers allowed the Warriors back into the contest as Sterling duplicated Bethel's second quarter three point shooting performance.

With the contest tied and just over 8 second left to play, the Warriors turned the ball over. After advancing the ball, the Threshers drew up a play that got their leading scorer
Natalie Richards a look under the basket which she knocks down and draws the foul.

After missing the free throw, the Warriors attempted to get a shot off before the time ran out, but missed giving Bethel the 87-85 in Sterling.
