NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College men's basketball team dropped the first ever KCAC matchup with the Evangel Valor in a 95-89 affair.

Despite the Threshers shooting over 41% from the floor and 42% from three point range, they travel the Valor by 13 points at the intermission large in part due to Evangel shooting over 60% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

Nick Bonner followed up his 12 point first half performance with 14 in the second half, setting a new career high just one contest after scoring 24 points.

Keyaun Hoskin joined Bonner in leading the Threshers offensively in the second half as the duo combined for 24 of Bethel's 49 points on 9 of 18 combined shooting.

After cutting the Valor lead down to just one point with a 7-0 run at the 4:25 mark, Bethel allowed Evangel to push their lead back up to five before cutting it down to one again.

The Valor knocked down three pointers on back to back possessions quickly growing their one point lead to seven.

Bethel made big buckets late to force the Valor to execute down the stretch and make their free throws and they did just that as they held on for the 6 point victory.
