Bethel College women's soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 defeat against Evangel University in a hard-fought KCAC matchup.
First Half: Early Exchange of Goals
Bethel started early, taking the lead in the 32nd minute when Beth Lloyd scored her seventh goal of the season. The goal was set up by Lilli Reisser, giving the Threshers a 1-0 advantage. However, Evangel responded quickly. Just two minutes later, Evangel leveled the score. The teams went into halftime tied 1-1.
Second Half: Evangel's Breakthrough
In the 51st minute, Evangel found the back of the net giving the visitors a 2-1 lead. Bethel pressed hard for an equalizer, with shots from Malayasia Larque and Madison Davis testing the Evangel goalkeeper Despite their efforts, Bethel couldn't break through Evangel's defense, and the game ended 2-1 in favor of Evangel.
Bethel's Defensive Efforts
Bethel goalkeeper Victoria Esquivel made several key saves throughout the match, recording four in total. The Threshers' defense was resilient.
With this loss, Bethel falls to 5-5-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the KCAC.
