Bethel College men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Tabor College in a physical KCAC matchup. Filip Maksimovic's early goal put Bethel ahead.
First Half: Maksimovic Strikes Early
Bethel got off to a quick start, with Filip Maksimovic scoring just four minutes into the match to give the Threshers a 1-0 lead. Bethel's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kazimir Kromwijk, held strong throughout the first half, with Kromwijk making key saves to preserve the lead. However, Tabor equalized in the 31st minute, and the teams entered halftime tied 1-1.
Second Half: Both Teams Battle for the Winner
The second half saw both teams create opportunities, but neither could break the deadlock. Bethel's attack, led by Maksimovic and Panagiotis Charalambous, put pressure on Tabor's defense, but Tabor's goalkeeper made critical saves to deny the Threshers. Despite a red card to Tabor late in the match, Bethel couldn't capitalize and the match ended 1-1.
Bethel moves to 5-6-3 on the season and 4-2-3 in KCAC play, and will travel to Ottawa this Saturday.
