Volleyball Dominates Tabor in Straight Sets

North Newton, Kan. — October 16, 2024

The Bethel College volleyball team put on a commanding performance, defeating Tabor College in straight sets (25-11, 25-8, 25-21). The Threshers improved their KCAC record to 5-2 and showcased a strong offensive and defensive effort throughout the match.

Set 1: Bethel Starts Strong (25-11)

Bethel came out firing in the first set, hitting .520 as a team. Darla Crow led the way with 10 kills and no errors for the match, while Mia Roman dished out 32 assists. The Threshers quickly took control and never looked back, cruising to a 25-11.

Set 2: Bethel's Defense Shines (25-8)

The second set saw Bethel's defense stifle Tabor, forcing them into seven attack errors and holding them to a negative hitting percentage. Bethel, on the other hand, continued their offensive prowess, hitting .500 for the set. Crow and Laci Ownbey continued to deliver, and Bethel's serving pressure, led by Amaya Malhas with 5 aces, proved too much for Tabor as Bethel easily took the set 25-8.

Set 3: Tabor Fights Back, but Bethel Closes (25-21)

Tabor made a push in the third set, keeping the score closer and reducing their attack errors. However, Bethel's balanced attack, led by Offerle and Ownbey, helped the Threshers maintain control. Despite some late resistance from Tabor, Bethel closed out the set and the match 25-21 to secure their 17th win of the season.

With the victory, Bethel moves to 17-7 overall and 5-2 in KCAC play. The Threshers will look to continue their winning ways with a huge matchup at home against Ottawa on Saturday!?
