Bethel College women's soccer team secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Sterling. Malayasia Larque led the charge with two goals, while Grace Anderson and Ashlee Clauson each contributed to the scoring to complete Bethel's shutout.
First Half: Bethel Takes Early Command
The Threshers set the tone early, as Larque opened the scoring in the 9th minute with an unassisted goal. Bethel continued to press Sterling's defense, and in the 32nd minute, Clauson doubled the lead with her first goal of the season. Bethel dominated possession, outshooting Sterling 13-6 in the first half. Goalkeeper Victoria Esquivel made crucial saves to maintain the 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Second Half: Bethel Extends the Lead
Bethel kept up the pressure in the second half. Larque struck again less than a minute in, scoring her second goal of the game to make it 3-0. In the 63rd minute, Anderson added a fourth goal, assisted by Madeline Moscrip. Bethel's defense continued to stifle Sterling, with goalkeeper Jacie Scott preserving the shutout. Bethel outshot Sterling 29-9.
