NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Bethel College continued its red-hot form, sweeping Southwestern in straight sets (25-12, 25-14, 25-14) on Saturday, October 5, at Thresher Gym. With this victory, the Threshers have now won 21 consecutive sets, maintaining their undefeated record in KCAC play (15-5, 3-0).
Set 1: Bethel 25, Southwestern 12
Bethel started strong, taking early control of the first set behind a great performance from Cameron Offerle, who had multiple kills off assists from Mia Roman. Bethel jumped out to a 7-2 lead, forcing Southwestern to call a timeout. The Threshers widened the gap. Southwestern struggled to generate momentum, committing several errors, allowing Bethel to close the set 25-12.
Set 2: Bethel 25, Southwestern 14
The second set mirrored the first, as Bethel dominated early. Offerle's consistent offensive firepower and Jordan Boone's net defense kept Southwestern at bay. The Threshers capitalized on Southwestern's errors, building a 10-point lead midway through the set. Despite a few service errors, Bethel stayed in control and comfortably took the second set, 25-14.
Set 3: Bethel 25, Southwestern 14
Southwestern attempted to regroup in the third set but faced the same Bethel intensity. Boone and Offerle combined for multiple kills, while Bethel's defense remained solid, with Crow and Ownbey contributing heavily at the net. The Threshers then sealed the match with a 25-14 win.
