The Bethel College women's basketball team opened their season with a tough 90-67 loss to Jamestown. Kendall Locke led the Threshers' offense with 25 points, but Jamestown's consistent shooting and second-quarter surge created a gap that Bethel couldn't close.
First Half: Jamestown Builds a Strong Lead
The first quarter was competitive, with Bethel keeping pace as Locke scored 10 of her total points early. The Threshers trailed 20-17 at the end of the first. However, Jamestown's offense came alive in the second quarter, outscoring Bethel 31-15. Despite key shots from Locke and contributions from Natalie Richards, Bethel went into halftime down 51-32.
Second Half: Bethel Fights to Narrow the Gap
Bethel showed resilience in the third quarter, with Richards and Locke continuing to battle inside. Carley Robb and Lexi Robinson also contributed from the bench, but Jamestown maintained their double-digit lead. Locke hit a three-pointer in the fourth quarter to close the deficit, but Jamestown's offense stayed steady to secure the win.
Locke finished the game with 25 points and 6 rebounds, while Richards added 10 points. The Threshers will look to regroup and make adjustments as they prepare for their next matchup in the non-conference season against Northern New Mexico tomorrow at 2:00 PM
