The Bethel College Women's Basketball team delivered an emphatic victory over Southwestern College, winning 81-52 in their conference home opener. Fueled by a dominant performance in the third quarter and a balanced team effort, the Threshers secured their first win of the season.
First Quarter: Strong Start for Bethel
Bethel jumped out to an early lead, utilizing a solid defensive effort to limit Southwestern to just 8 points. Kendall Locke and Madyson McKinzie set the tone offensively, helping the Threshers finish the quarter ahead 15-8.
Second Quarter: Bethel Extends the Lead
The Threshers continued to build momentum in the second quarter, outscoring Southwestern 21-12. Natalie Richards and Carley Robb contributed key baskets as Bethel took a commanding 36-20 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter: Bethel Pulls Away
The third quarter was all Bethel, as the Threshers exploded for 34 points while holding Southwestern to just 14. Locke and McKinzie dominated in the paint, while Caryn Yoder added a pair of three-pointers to extend the lead to 70-34 by the end of the quarter.
Fourth Quarter: Closing it Out
Although Southwestern made a late push in the fourth quarter, Bethel's lead was insurmountable. The Threshers closed out the game with contributions from the entire roster, securing the 81-52 victory.
Bethel will look to continue their strong conference play on Saturday, November 23rd, as they travel to face Bethany College.
