Lindsborg, Kan. - November 23rd
The Bethel College Women's Basketball team held off a late push by Bethany College to secure a 66-61 road victory in conference play. A pivotal offensive rebound by Taylor Hight in the final seconds helped seal the win for the Threshers.
First Quarter: Tight Start
Bethel opened the game with balanced scoring but found themselves trailing 19-16 after the first quarter. The Threshers stayed competitive, with scoring from Madyson McKinzie and Kendall Locke keeping the game within reach.
Second Quarter: Defensive Battle
The second quarter was a defensive struggle for both teams, with Bethel outscoring Bethany 13-11. Farah Shehab hit a tough step-back three to end the half,  but the team trailed 30-29 at halftime.
Third Quarter: Bethel Takes Control
Bethel dominated the third quarter, shooting 58.8% from the field and outscoring Bethany 23-22. McKinzie led the way with 12 points in the period, making it tied heading into the final period.Â
Fourth Quarter: Hight's Heroics
Bethel started the 4th quarter only giving up 3 points in the first 5 minutes of the period. In the closing seconds, after Karlee Locke missed a free throw, Taylor Hight grabbed a crucial offensive rebound to keep possession for Bethel. The play set up Kendall Locke, who sank two free throws to extend the lead and secure the 66-61 victory.
Bethel will not be in action for a week until next Saturday at home against Kansas Christian.Â
