Men’s Soccer Advances to KCAC Semifinals with Victory Over Saint Mary

North Newton, Kan. - November 6th

Bethel College Men's Soccer team clinched a spot in the KCAC semifinals with a decisive 2-0 victory over the University of Saint Mary. The Threshers dominated both halves, with standout performances from Gabriel Okita and Aden Braggs securing the goals that propelled Bethel.

First Half

Bethel took control early, pressuring Saint Mary's defense and creating numerous scoring opportunities. After a series of shots on goal and a corner kick, the breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Gabriel Okita found the back of the net with an unassisted strike, putting Bethel up 1-0. The Threshers' defense held firm, limiting Saint Mary to only one shot in the first half, while goalkeeper Kazimir Kromwijk remained largely untested. Bethel closed the half with a solid 1-0 lead.

Second Half

Saint Mary increased their intensity in the second half, earning eight corner kicks and nine shots, but Bethel's defense held steady. Kazimir Kromwijk was called into action, making two crucial saves to preserve the lead. In the 73rd minute, Aden Braggs extended Bethel's advantage with an unassisted goal, seizing a 2-0 lead that would prove the difference. Bethel continued to press until the final whistle, securing the shutout and their place in the semifinals.
