HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bethel College men's basketball team picked up a much needed victory in a contest with major KCAC standings as they defeated the Tabor Bluejays on their home court, 90-62.

In a first half that saw both teams exchange the lead back and forth with neither leading by more than two possessions at a time, the Threshers held on to a four-point advantage going into the intermission.

Carmelo Yakubu ended the opening 20 minutes with 11 points on a perfect five of five from the field to lead the Threshers.

Bethel would nearly double up Tabor in the second half thanks to a 34-14 run over a six-minute span.
Nick Bonner knocked down three three-point baskets to lead the charge as he scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half.
Keyaun Hoskin and
Jalyn Todd each added in 5 points apiece during the run as well.

After not making a three-point basket until the final six minutes in the first half, the Threshers knocked down eight in the final 20 minutes as they blew the game wide open.
