Six Threshers score in double figures as Men's Basketball earns postseason birth with victory over Sterling

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Needing a win to keep their season alive, the Bethel College men's basketball team knocked down 42.4% of their shots on their way to an 82-67 victory.
 
After Bethel took the early lead, Sterling caught fire from deep as they shot over 66% from three-point range over the first ten minutes of the contest, giving them a seven-point lead.
 
The Threshers clawed their way back into the lead before the Warriors ran their lead back up to six points. Nick Bonner nailed a fastbreak three just before the horn to cut the Warriors lead down to one, 38-37.
 
Both teams traded the lead back and forth until the 13:37 mark when a Harper Jonas made free throw changed the lead for the final time in the contest.
 
Bethel closed out the final 13 minutes by outscoring Sterling 31-15 as they made 9-of-17 from the floor and 3-of-8 from three point range while knocking down eight of their ten free throw attempts.

Harper Jonas and Keyaun Hoskin each put up double-digit second halves as Jonas shot 60% from the floor while Hoskin was 55% including an emphatic put back dunk.

As a team, Bethel recorded a blocked shot while stealing the ball 8 times in the contest.
 
Bethel pulled in 43 rebounds to Sterling's 34.
 
The Threshers pulled in 13 offensive boards leading to 13 second chance points.

With the Threshers starting the seniors that have been with the program for four years, Miguel Vojtova, Jalyn Richardson, Jared Richardson, Marcus Labonde and Jalyn Todd, Bethel received 55 points off the bench.
 
Vojtova carried the load for the starters scoring 10 of his 13 points in the opening minutes.
