Volleyball Splits Doubleheader with Hannibal-Lagrange & Benedictine

Atchison, Kan. -  Volleyball splits doubleheader with Hannibal-Lagrange and Benedictine

Bethel Dominates Hannibal-LaGrange in Straight Sets

In the first match of their doubleheader, the Threshers dominated with a commanding 3-0 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange. The Threshers set the tone early, taking the first set 25-10 and continuing their strong performance with 25-11 victories in the second and third sets. Kylah Carter led the way for Bethel with 10 kills, while Cameron Offerle added 7 kills and 5 service aces. The Threshers' defense was also on point, holding Hannibal-LaGrange to a negative hitting percentage of -.012. Bethel's overall team effort allowed them to cruise to their third win of the season.

Bethel Falls to Benedictine

In the second match of the night, Bethel faced a tough opponent in Benedictine, a team that won over 20 games last year and made it to the national tournament. Despite a great effort, the Threshers fell in straight sets 19-25, 20-25, and 21-25. Bethel's offense struggled to find consistency. The Threshers were lead by Cameron Offerle and Laci Ownbey combining for 12 kills. Darla Crow also chipped in with 4 blocks. The Threshers' defense kept them in the match, but ultimately, the Ravens proved too strong.

Next Up

Bethel (KS) will be back in action this Friday as they travel to Hastings for a tripleheader against Hastings, William Woods, and Central Christian. The Threshers will look to bounce back and build on their early-season success as they continue to prepare for conference play.
