McPherson, KS – The Bethel College women's soccer team secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Central Christian College on August 31, 2024, in a dominant display at McPherson. This win marks the Threshers' first victory of the season, bringing their record to 1-2-0.
First-Half
Bethel wasted no time getting ahead, scoring four goals in the first half alone. Leonie Kuhrt opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a well-placed shot, assisted by Taylor Andrew. The Threshers continued to pressure, and just six minutes later, Beth Lloyd doubled the lead with her first goal of the season.
The relentless Bethel attack saw Madison Davis add a third goal in the 24th minute, with Kuhrt providing the assist. Malayasia Larque rounded out the first-half scoring spree, netting her first goal of the season in the 42nd minute, assisted by Davis.
Second-Half Control
In the second half, Bethel continued to control the game, adding another goal in the 83rd minute. Larque struck again, this time with an assist from Grace Anderson, sealing the 5-0 victory. Jacie Scott and Victoria Esquivel, both goalkeepers for the Threshers, combined for the shutout.
