NORTH NEWTON, Kan.—The Bethel College women's basketball team showcased a stellar performance on Saturday afternoon, securing a convincing 77-67 victory over Saint Mary in Thresher Gym. Natalie Richards and Kendall Locke led the way with double-digit scoring, helping the Threshers improve to 8-8 overall and 7-3 in KCAC play.
Richards delivered a game-high 24 points, shooting 9-of-16 from the field, while Locke contributed a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Carley Robb chipped in with timely baskets and defensive plays, finishing with four points and two steals.
How It Happened
Bethel started hot, outscoring Saint Mary 20-9 in the first quarter, thanks to their aggressive defense and efficient shooting. The Threshers extended their lead to 46-28 by halftime, with Richards scoring 15 points in the first two quarters.
Saint Mary made a push in the second half, cutting the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter. However, Bethel responded with key baskets and strong free-throw shooting, sealing the victory down the stretch.
