NORTH NEWTON, Kan.—The Bethel College women's basketball team delivered an impressive performance on Saturday evening, defeating McPherson College 69-52 in Thresher Gym. With the victory, the Threshers improve to 11-9 overall and 10-4 in KCAC play.
Natalie Richards led the charge with a game-high 19 points, shooting 7-of-15 from the field and adding six rebounds. Kendall Locke contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and seven assists, while Carley Robb dominated the boards with a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with nine points.
How It Happened
Bethel set the tone early, outscoring McPherson 16-14 in the first quarter. The Threshers ramped up their defense in the second quarter, holding McPherson to just five points and heading into halftime with a commanding 34-19 lead.
Richards' scoring and Locke's playmaking extended the lead in the second half, as Bethel maintained control of the game. The Threshers' defense stifled McPherson throughout, holding them to just 30.6% shooting and forcing 24 turnovers.
McPherson's Raeghan Borman led the Bulldogs with 12 points, but the team struggled offensively against Bethel's aggressive defense.
