Kansas City, Mo. — Bethel men's soccer delivered an impressive road comeback Saturday afternoon, scoring twice in the final 15 minutes to defeat Avila University, 3–2.
The Threshers struck first in the 25th minute when Aden Braggs found the net from close range after a service from Gabriel Okita to make it 1–0. Avila responded in the second half, leveling the score in the 56th minute before taking a 2–1 lead in the 69th.
Momentum shifted back to Bethel almost immediately. Just one minute later, Calvin Bell powered home the equalizer off a pass from Branden Balvanz. In the 77th minute, Braggs completed his brace with the game-winning goal, finishing a precise ball from Cristian Del Real.
Goalkeeper Kazimir Kromwijk anchored the defense with three key saves, while the Threshers finished with a 17–8 advantage in total shots and an 8–5 edge on target.
The victory improves Bethel to 3–9–1 overall and 2–5–1 in KCAC play. The Threshers will look to keep the momentum rolling Wednesday night at home against McPherson College, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
