North Newton, Kan. – Bethel Men's Soccer grabbed its first conference win of the season, defeating Sterling 1–0 in a physical battle at Thresher Stadium.
With chances hard to come by in a tense second half, the breakthrough came in the 84th minute. Aden Braggs scored his fourth goal of the season, finishing off an assist from Branden Balvanz to lift the Threshers to victory.
Bethel outshot Sterling 13–8 and controlled possession late, even after finishing the match shorthanded following a red card in the 85th minute. Goalkeeper Kazimir Kromwijk was sharp, collecting three saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The win gives the Threshers momentum heading into Fall Fest weekend against Southwestern. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
