WICHITA, Kan. — Bethel Softball (0-1) struggled to find offensive momentum in their season opener, falling 12-0 in five innings to Doane (NE) (5-2) on Monday, Feb. 24, at the Two Rivers Complex.
The Tigers capitalized on early scoring opportunities, putting up four runs in the first inning and adding another four in the second to take an 8-0 lead. Bethel managed three hits but couldn't push across a run.

Doane jumped ahead quickly with True's two-run homer in the first inning, followed by Hudson's two-RBI double. In the second, errors proved costly for Bethel, as Doane tacked on four more runs, including a two-RBI double from Parsons.
The Tigers added three more runs in the third, aided by another error and an RBI double from True. In the fifth, Doane capped off their scoring with an RBI single from Thomas.
Bethel's best chance to score came in the second when A. Bodine singled, and A. Ramirez followed with another hit, but the Threshers were unable to bring them home.
