North Newton, Kan. — Bethel College (6-5, 2-0 KCAC) is off to a strong start to conference play with a commanding doubleheader sweep over York University (5-15, 0-2 KCAC) on Tuesday at Wedel Field. The Threshers put up double-digit runs in both games, winning 10-2 and 10-2.

Bethel wasted no time jumping on York in game one, scoring eight runs in the first inning. Claire Broxterman got things rolling with a two-run double, followed by a three-run double from Ashleigh Bodine. Ella Caudill and Kailey Sandoval each added RBI singles to cap the big inning.
The Threshers tacked on a run in both the fourth and fifth innings, with Broxterman delivering an RBI double and Caudill driving in the final run of the game. Killingsworth kept York's offense in check, allowing two runs on five hits over five innings, earning the complete-game win.

York took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Bethel quickly responded, tying the game with RBI hits from Broxterman and Cassie Albin. The Threshers broke the game open in the second inning, plating five runs behind a two-RBI single from Broxterman and a two-run triple from Albin.
Kailey Sandoval put the game out of reach in the fifth with a bases-clearing triple, driving in three unearned runs to give Bethel the run-rule victory. Richardson was solid in the circle, tossing a five-inning complete game while allowing five hits and striking out two.
