Women's Tennis Sweep Southwestern, Prepare for Nationally Ranked Morningside

North Newton, Kan. -  The Bethel College women's tennis team took care of business on Tuesday, securing a dominant 7-0 victory over Southwestern. Facing a short-handed opponent, the Threshers capitalized on their opportunities and continued building momentum ahead of a major test against nationally ranked Morningside.

In doubles action, Kayla Babcock and Jireh Gonzalez battled through a tight match at No. 1 doubles to pick up a key win. The other two doubles pairings were awarded by default.

Singles play saw Bethel continue its strong form. Daniela Herrera led the way at No. 1 singles, delivering a convincing straight-set win. Jenna Mahoney followed suit with a dominant performance at No. 2 singles, and Karissa Wilson took care of business at No. 3. With solid performances throughout the lineup, the Threshers secured the sweep.

Next up, Bethel hosts No. 23 Morningside on Thursday at 4 p.m. in what promises to be a high-level matchup.
