Flag Football Wraps Up Season with Loss to Hesston, Completes Year One Under Coach Teeter

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The Bethel College flag football team closed out its 2025 campaign with a 33-6 loss to Hesston College on Wednesday night at Thresher Stadium, concluding the first season under head coach Felicia Teeter.

Bethel's highlight came in the first quarter when Kyndall Longman launched a 51-yard pass to Nevaeh Gonzales for a touchdown, giving the Threshers an early 6-0 lead. It marked one of the longest plays of the season and a flash of the offensive potential developed during the year.

Despite the strong start, Hesston answered quickly and gradually pulled away. Bethel's offense showed some rhythm in the first half but struggled to maintain momentum, while turnovers and short fields allowed the Larks to extend their lead.

Stat Leaders

  • Longman threw for 100 yards and a touchdown.

  • Gonzales led all receivers with 81 yards and the lone score, finishing with four catches.

  • India Lindsey added 22 rushing yards and a sack on defense.

  • Xavia Mann recorded a team-high seven tackles, while Kathryn Schmidt added six and an interception.

  • Gonzales also picked off a pass on defense, capping a solid two-way performance.
