Volleyball Finishes the Bethel Classic with 3 Wins

Four matches. Two days. Momentum found in Thresher Gym — Aug 15–16, 2025

Game 1 — Aug 15, 11:00 AM — vs Oklahoma Panhandle State

Result: Win 3–1 (25–22, 25–19, 23–25, 25–22)

Bethel opened the Classic with a strong performance, defeating Oklahoma Panhandle State in four sets. Cameron Offerle highlighted the afternoon by setting a new career high with 28 kills. Freshman setter Dalaina Schutte was impressive in her debut, handing out 53 assists to direct a balanced attack that saw multiple hitters contribute. The Threshers closed out the first set on an Offerle kill and maintained momentum through a dominant second frame.

Game 2 — Aug 15 (Late) — vs Texas A&M–Texarkana

Result: Loss 2–3 (18–25, 25–20, 21–25, 25–18, 7–15)

The nightcap stretched late into the evening, with the match concluding close to 10:30 p.m. Bethel fought hard against Texas A&M–Texarkana, rallying to win the fourth set and force a deciding frame. Offerle led the attack with 18 kills, while Schutte added 31 assists and libero Abby Koontz anchored the defense with 25 digs. The match included an extended rally in the opening set that energized the crowd and showcased both teams' defensive grit.

Game 3 — Aug 16 — vs Langston

Result: Sweep 3–0 (28–26, 26–24, 25–16)

The Threshers returned to action the next morning and earned a straight-set win over Langston. A tight opening set went Bethel's way at 28–26 before the home team pulled out another close frame in the second. With momentum secured, Bethel controlled the third set to finish the sweep. Strong serving and steady execution allowed the Threshers to stay in control throughout.

Game 4 — Aug 16 — vs Hastings

Result: Sweep 3–0 (25–20, 25–22, 25–16)

Bethel closed the Classic with another sweep, defeating Hastings in three sets. Offerle once again paced the offense with 19 kills on an efficient .531 hitting percentage, while Schutte added 38 assists. The second set proved pivotal as the Threshers erased a late deficit and stormed back to win 25–22. With the match firmly in hand, Bethel controlled the third set to complete its third victory of the weekend.

Bethel now turns its attention to the Park (MO) Invitational, where it will open play on Friday at 4:15 p.m. against Wayland Baptist.
