NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The Bethel College men's basketball team put together one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday afternoon, rolling past Evangel 90–68 inside Thresher Gym. The win improves Bethel to 16–6 overall and 11–5 in KCAC play. Bethel remains in 4th in the conference.
Bethel controlled the game from the opening tip, building a commanding 46–24 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and strong defensive pressure. The Threshers never trailed, maintaining double-digit separation throughout the contest while shooting 53.2% from the field and knocking down 15 three-pointers.
Trenton Patterson led all scorers with 24 points, hitting five three-pointers and consistently attacking the lane. Dominick Harris followed with 15 points, eight assists, and 11 rebounds for a near triple-double, while Carmelo Yakubu added 15 points and eight rebounds in the frontcourt.
Bethel's bench provided a major lift, highlighted by Drew Rodriguez, who scored 12 points on a 4-for-6 effort from beyond the arc. The Threshers finished with 26 bench points, continuing a trend of strong depth contributions.
Defensively, Bethel forced 13 Evangel turnovers and limited the Valor to 40.4% shooting, while also winning the rebounding battle 39–28. The balanced effort allowed Bethel to steadily extend its lead throughout the second half.
