SALINA, Kan. — The Bethel College women's basketball team earned a gritty 58–52 road victory over Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday night, moving into sole possession of second place in the KCAC standings following losses by Friends and Bethany.
The win improves Bethel to 18–7 overall and 15–4 in conference play as the Threshers continue their strong late-season push and makes nine wins in a row.
Bethel never trailed in the contest and held Kansas Wesleyan to just 34.4 percent shooting from the field. The Threshers built a six-point halftime lead and used an 18–7 third quarter to create separation before holding off a late Coyotes push in the fourth.
Kendall Locke led the way with 22 points and 15 rebounds, adding four assists and a steal while controlling the game on both ends.
Madyson McKinzie finished with 13 points, while Alayna Vines provided a key lift off the bench with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
Karlee Locke added 7 points and 8 rebounds, contributing defensively throughout the night.
Bethel scored 44 of its 58 points in the paint, controlled the glass 42–39, and limited Kansas Wesleyan to just seven points in the third quarter — the decisive stretch of the game.
With the victory, Bethel now sits alone in second place in the conference standings.
