LAWRENCE, Kan. — Bethel defeated Haskell 3-0 on Tuesday. The Threshers hit .309 with 40 kills and held Haskell to a .115 hitting percentage in the sweep. Bethel achieved a season-high hitting percentage in the game.
Bethel broke a 20-20 tie in the opening set on a Haskell error, then closed the set with a four-point burst. The service game shaped the middle of the match, with the Threshers opening the second set with eight straight service points and later adding five straight service points to reach 24-7. In the third, Bethel trailed by two before putting together four straight service points to move ahead 15-13, and the team took a 16-14 lead after that deficit.
Bethel finished with 40 kills on a .309 attack percentage, while Haskell had 25 kills and hit .115. The Threshers also had 42 digs to Haskell's 23 and held a 6-1 advantage in service aces. Bethel maintained a streak of at least six service aces in two consecutive games.
