HILLSBORO, Kan. — Bethel defeated Tabor 3-1 to open up KCAC play, winning 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-16. The Threshers finished with a 53-41 advantage in kills and hit .262 while Tabor hit .141.
Bethel established early scoring stretches, opening the first set with a 6-0 run that included five straight service points and grew into seven wins in the first eight rallies for a 7-1 lead. Tabor later put Bethel in a 16-8 hole in the second set, but the Threshers worked the margin down to 22-20 before the set closed. Bethel put together another extended push in the third, winning seven of eight rallies to move from a 7-5 edge to a 14-6 advantage.
The Threshers finished with 53 kills and a .262 hitting percentage while holding Tabor to 41 kills and a .141 mark. Bethel also had a 76-61 advantage in digs, with both teams committing 13 service errors and the Threshers totaling six aces to Tabor's five.
Cameron Offerle finished with 16 kills and 16.5 points, while
Dalaina Schutte had 46 assists as Bethel generated 53 team assists.
Dylan Cochran added 12 kills on a .458 hitting percentage and 21 digs, giving Bethel production in both the attack and back row. Cochran's 21 digs marked a career-high.
