BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Bethel defeated OKWU 3-2 on Saturday at Mueller Sports Center. After dropping the first two sets, the Threshers won the final three 25-23, 25-22 and 15-12.
The Threshers' path ran through several late-set swings, starting with a first-set stretch in which they trailed by two before moving ahead 17-15. A similar turn came in the third set, when Bethel went from down 18-17 to in front 22-19, then converted set point at 25-23. Bethel also moved ahead 21-20 late in the fourth set after the set was tied at 20, adding another close-set moment to a match built around narrow margins.
OKWU finished with more kills, 67-62, and hit .217 to Bethel's .191, while both teams totaled 10.0 blocks. Bethel achieved a season-high total of 62 kills in the game and surpassed its season average in blocks, totaling 10.0. The Threshers added five service aces and 78 digs, with
Dylan Cochran finishing with 16 kills, achieving this number for the first time this season, a .293 hitting percentage and 21 digs, which also marked a season first.
Dalaina Schutte directed the attack with a season-high 49 assists and added 13 digs, while Bethel's front line contributed 18 block assists across the match.
