NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel lost to Ottawa 3-1 on Saturday. The Threshers faced 25 shots and made nine saves, while putting four of its seven shots on goal.
The Threshers weathered an early Ottawa sequence without conceding, as Ottawa generated nine attacking actions, including seven shots and two corner kicks, while the match remained scoreless. After Ottawa later led 2-0,
Erwin Navarro pulled Bethel within 2-1 in the second half off an assist from
Connell Silmon. Around that same second-half stretch, the Threshers also came through five Ottawa attacking actions without allowing another goal. Later, Bethel pushed while trailing with three attacking actions, including two shots and a corner kick.
Ottawa finished with 25 shots and 13 shots on goal, while the Threshers had seven shots and put four on goal.
Diego Medina made nine saves, and
Kian Medeiros added a defensive save for Bethel. Navarro scored on his only shot, and Silmon recorded the assist while also putting his lone shot on goal.
