NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel lost to Ottawa 2-1 on Saturday. The Threshers scored in the first half before Ottawa scored twice after halftime.
Malayasia Larque put Bethel in front in the first half, scoring the opening goal to give the Threshers a 1-0 lead. Ottawa generated a later first-half stretch that included three shots and a corner kick, but Bethel came through that sequence without conceding and kept the one-goal advantage at the break.
Ottawa finished with a 15-7 edge in shots and put five attempts on goal, while the Threshers placed three of their seven shots on frame. Larque was involved throughout Bethel's attacking production, finishing with six shots and three shots on goal.
Cadence McMenamy made three saves in goal for Bethel, helping keep the game within reach as Ottawa continued to create attempts.
