NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel lost to No. 15 Oklahoma Wesleyan 7-0 on Saturday. The Threshers were held to four shots and no shots on goal, while their goalkeeper was credited with 10 saves against 29 Oklahoma Wesleyan shots.
The match developed around Oklahoma Wesleyan's shot volume, with Bethel spending much of the match dealing with attempts while trying to turn limited chances into looks at goal. Oklahoma Wesleyan finished with 29 shots and put 18 on frame, while Bethel totaled four shots and did not record a shot on goal.
Harley Inskeep played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Threshers and made 10 saves, giving Bethel a steady presence behind a defense that also received a defensive save from
Grace Harthorn.
The Threshers' attacking chances came through
Malayasia Larque and
Kaitlyn Marroquin, with Larque taking three of the team's four shots and Marroquin adding the other attempt. The teams combined for 16 fouls, with Bethel whistled for seven and Oklahoma Wesleyan for nine.
