SALINA, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team took on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes as each squad looked for its first win in conference play, the Coyotes for the year. Bethel fell behind by a large margin after the opening quarter and were never able to catch up as the Coyotes took the contest 84-63.
After scoring the opening bucket, the Threshers went ice cold from the floor in the opening 10 minutes. The Coyotes scored 22 straight points in the quarter to blow the game wide open, taking a 24-5 lead into the break. The second quarter saw Kansas Wesleyan add to their lead despite Bethel having more success putting the ball in the basket. The Threshers were outscored by five in the second frame as the Coyotes took the 41-17 halftime lead.
Bethel responded to Head Coach
Derrick Pringle Jr.'s halftime speech by scoring 46 points in the final two quarters, their second highest point total for a half this season.
Josie Stupey came alive in the second half for Bethel scoring 16 of her game high 19 points.
Key Statistic
The Threshers were unable to handle the Coyote pressure in the opening quarter as they turned the ball over 11 times.

The Threshers lost the points in the paint battle 42-30.
Bethel finished the game with 12 steals as a team.
