NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher track and field teams hosted the Bethel Open on Saturday morning at Thresher Stadium. The Thresher men finished in 5th place out of 10.
Hayden Wallace finished 8th in the shot put with a distance of 10.73 meters. Wallace also finished in fifth in the discus with a distance of 30.86m.
Sebastian Formento finished 9th in the long jump with a distance of 5.9 meters and 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 12.08 meters.
In the 1500 meters,
Mauro Arancibia Campos ran a time of 4:08.07(4th),
Arran Kearney a time of 4:12.20(6th) and Landon Barnes ran a 5:12.32(28th).
Garrett Slater and Gabe Gaeddert ran in the 400. Slater turned in a time of 53.08(9th), while Gaeddert ran a 54.14(12th).
In the 100 meter,
Trey Palmer ran a 10.81(4th),
Isaac Tarango ran an 11.10(10th) and
Corbin Unruh ran an 11.51(17th).
Isaiah Bartel won the 800 meter with a time of 1:56.74.
Luke Schmidt ran a 2:03.14(8th),
Tobin Wise a 2:05.40(11th) and
Andrew Graber a 2:12.32(15th).
In the 200 meter, Palmer ran a 22.27(6th), Tarango a 22.66(11th), Formento a 23.45(14th), Unruh a 23.52(15th) and Slater a 23.83(17th).
Arancibia Campos ran a 3:37.51(6th) in the 3000 meter while
Robbie Crager finished in 10:53.88(11th) and
Carter Funk in 11:29.33(12th).
The two men's 4x400 teams finished back to back with the group of sprinters narrowly edging out the mid-distance group. The sprinters ran a 3:36.06(6th) while the mid-distance team ran a 3:36.33(7th).
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, March 26th for the Jinx Open.
