CRETE, Neb. - The Bethel College track and field teams had a strong showing at the Scott Nisely Invite hosted by Doane University.
After being the top qualifier in the 60 meters,
Trey Palmer finished second in the final missing the NAIA B Standard by .02 seconds as he finished in 6.93. He improved upon his qualifying time by .03 seconds in his second run.
Sebastian Formento finished 13th in the dash with a time of 7.20.
Cade Mason was the final Thresher in the competition as he finished 31st with a time of 7.47.
In the women's 60m,
Dakota Voortman ran a time of 9.29 to finish 31st.
Aubry Grame finished 13th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.34.
In the 400m,
Charles Walker finished 15th with a time of 55.63 while
Tre Lucas finished 19th with a time of 55.97.
Mia Roman finished 3rd in the women's 600m with a time of 1:48.08. Grame finished in 5th with a time of 1:50.06.
In the men's 600m
Richard Whatley Jr. finished in 5th place with a time of 1:26.55.
Simon Hodge finished 8th with a time of 1:27.42 while
Nick Morgan finished 12th with a time of 1:34.53.
Bethany Schrag ran the mile in 6:52.93 to finish in 43rd.
In the men's mile
Luke Schmidt led the way for BC finishing 24th with a time of 4:40.65.
Tobin Wise finished 32nd with a time of 4:46.74.
Daniel Kaufman and
Matthew Fleck finished back to back in 51st and 52nd places with times of 5:11.48 and 5:12.44.
Robbie Crager rounded out the milers with a time of 5:22.63 to finish 57th.
In the field portion of the events, Roman finished 10th in the high jump with a best mark of 1.49m.
Palmer finished 4th in long jump with a best distance of 6.60m. Formento finished in 22nd with a mark of 5.70m while Walker finished 26th with a mark of 5.04m.
Myiah Logue finished 3rd in the women's long jump with a best distance of 5.12m, while
Karsen Dunham recorded a distance of 5.03m to finish 5th.
In the shot put
Julius McVay finished 17th with a distance of 12.85m, while
Hayden Wallace finished 24th with a distance of 12.26m.
In the men's triple jump, Formento finished 7th with a distance of 12.36m, while Walker failed to mark a distance fouling on his three attempts.
The women's triple jump saw Dunham and Logue flip places of the long jump. Dunham finish 3rd with a distance of 10.76m, while Logue finished 5th mark of 10.44m.
In the weight throw, McVay and Wallace finished back to back in 38th and 39th with marks of 10.76m and 10.25m.
Both Thresher squads will be back in action on Saturday, January 21st as they compete in the Washburn Rust Buster in Topeka, Kan.
