NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - After tying the contest in the 80th minute, the Bethel College women's soccer team succumbed the Braves attack as they forfeited an 85th minute goal to fall 2-1.
Both teams had a multitude of chances to score in the opening 45 minutes of play, but neither were successful in doing so as they entered the intermission tied nill-nill.
Just forty seconds into the second half, the Braves broke the seal as they found the back of the net to take the advantage.
Following an Ottawa foul in the box that awarded the Threshers with a penalty kick,
Taylor Dashney was able to convert on the PK chance to even the match in the 80th minute.
With just over five minutes left in the contest, the Bethel defense bent under the pressure of the Braves offensive attack as Ottawa was able to convert on a one-on-one chance with Bethel's keeper.
Bethel's keeper,
Mariah Vallejo, was tested all game as she turned in 14 saves in the contest.
The Threshers took 11 shots to the Braves' 18.
Bethel will be back in action on Wednesday, October 18th as they travel to Salina, Kan. to take on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes at 5:00 PM.
