NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Softball team hosted Sterling College for a doubleheader on a windy Tuesday evening at Allen Wedel Field. The Warriors took game one 11-4 and game two 8-4.

Bethel got the scoring started in the bottom half of the third inning when they scored tworuns on two Warrior errors. Sterling answered back with five runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead. They added three more runs in the sixth. The Threshers got one run back in the bottom half to trail 8-3. Sterling scored three more runs in the top of the 7th inning as they pushed their lead to 11-3. Bethel scored a run in the bottom half of the inning but came up short as they fell 11-4.

The Warriors struck first in game two as they pushed across four runs in the top half of the third inning. After another Sterling run in the top of the fourth, Bethel cut into the lead with a two run homerun from the bat of
Dakota Piovesan that left the park in a hurry. The Threshers added another run in the fifth inning to make the score 5-3 for the Warriors. Sterling tacked on two more runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to take a 8-3 advantage. Bethel was able to get runners on in the bottom half of the inning and push one run across before the Warriors shut the door.

The Threshers will be back in action on Wednesday, April 19th as they host the Southwestern Moundbuilders for a doubleheader at Allen Wedel Field beginning at 5:00 PM.
