NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher women's soccer team opened up their season with a 4-1 victory over Central Christian on the back of
Ashley SaJous' three goal performance.

Bethel took a two goal lead into the intermission as SaJous scored in the 18th minute, assisted by
Sydney Brown, before finding the net again in the 25th minute, this time unassisted.

In the 48th minute, Brown got a goal of her own, set up by a great ball from
Jazlyn Reese.
Â
Just seven minutes later, SaJous found her third goal of the contest when
Claire Hedlund's shot bounced off the post straight to Ashley's feet.

Central Christian was able to get on the board in the 82nd minute to cut the Threshers lead down to 4-1.

Bethel outshot Central Christian 13(9) to 9(5).Â

This win marks the first victory in Head Coach
Ignacio Milla's era at the helm for the Threshers.

Bethel will be back in action on Friday, September 1st at 11:00 am as they take on William Woods.
