At the 2024 Southwestern College Mid-States Classic, Bethel (Kan.) had a strong showing, with the men's team finishing as runner-up and multiple athletes achieving top performances.
Women's 6K Highlights
The Bethel women took the 6K as an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming KCAC championships.
- Bethany Schrag led the team, placing 6th with a time of 25:10.2.
- Emma Graber followed in 7th, clocking in at 25:47.4.
- Taryn Paulino rounded out the top ten for Bethel, finishing 9th with a time of 26:17.3.
- Sydney Hart also contributed with a solid run, completing her race in 29:50.5.
Men's 8K Highlights
On the men's side, Bethel achieved a commendable second-place finish overall, including impressive personal records:
- Tobin Wise ran a lifetime best, finishing in 6th place with a time of 27:02.6.
- Marcus Fiedler also achieved a personal best, coming in right behind Wise at 7th with a time of 27:02.7.
- Luke Schmidt contributed a strong performance, placing 9th in 27:36.2.
- Braden Esau finished in 11th with a time of 27:44.0, followed by Matthew Fleck (24th, 30:15.5), Seth Balzer (29th, 32:45.8), and Simon Hodge (30th, 32:50.6).
