Juan Zamora Named Head Coach of Bethel Men’s Soccer

North Newton, Kan. - Bethel College is proud to announce the hiring of Juan Zamora as the new head coach of the Thresher men's soccer program.

A standout alumnus of Friends University, Zamora brings a decorated playing career and valuable coaching experience to his new role. While at Friends, he earned All-American honors twice and etched his name into the record books with 56 career goals—a school record that still stands today. He was also a key member of the 2020 KCAC championship team.

Zamora has been serving as interim head coach since the departure of Luka Milicevic, and Bethel Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber expressed strong confidence in his leadership moving forward.

"We had a strong pool of candidates for the position and felt Juan deserved the opportunity," said Swartzendruber. "He has done a great job leading the program since Coach Milicevic left and I believe he is capable of taking over the head coaching position and continuing to build this program. I am very excited about the future of Thresher men's soccer."

With a deep understanding of the KCAC landscape and a passion for the game, Zamora is well-positioned to lead the Threshers into a new era of growth and competition.
