Sterling, Kan. — The Bethel College women's basketball team continued its surge through KCAC play on Wednesday night, knocking off Sterling College 85–75 at the Gleason Center. The win pushes the Threshers to 16–7 overall and 13–4 in conference play, extending their winning streak to seven games.
After a tight first half that saw Sterling carry a 39–38 edge into the break, Bethel took control in the third quarter. The Threshers erupted for 28 points in the period, shooting over 68 percent from the floor and flipping the game with a combination of defensive pressure and efficient scoring inside.
Reigning Offensive Player of the week, Karlee Locke delivered a dominant performance, finishing with a game-high 27 points and nine rebounds while going 12-of-20 from the field. Kendall Locke added 18 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while also reaching a historic milestone. Kendall surpassed the program's all-time steals record and continued to climb the record books during a night that highlighted her all-around impact.
Madyson McKinzie added another milestone of her own, scoring 11 points to become the newest member of Bethel's 1,000-point club. Alayna Vines provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and six rebounds, including several key finishes during Bethel's decisive third-quarter run.
Bethel's defense limited Sterling to just 12 points in the third quarter and forced the Warriors into difficult shots throughout the stretch. The Threshers also controlled the paint, scoring 50 points inside and converting timely opportunities in transition to keep momentum firmly on their side.
Bethel will travel to Avila on Saturday to take the Eagles. Tip is set for 1:00 PM
