LAWERENCE, Kan. - Both Thresher Cross Country teams took part in the Billy Mills Classic hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University over the weekend. The Men's team finished in first place led by sophomore
Mauro Campos who finished first with a time of 26:53.7.
Mauro finished the race 19 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
Arran Kearney finished not too far behind in 9th place with a time of 27:51.4.
Luke Schmidt also finished top 20 as he came in 15th place with a time of 26:25.3.
Tobin Wise was Bethel's next best finisher in 26th place with a time of 28:57.2.
Matthew Fleck finished just behind Wise in 34th place with a time of 29:58.9.
Andrew Graber was the Threshers next finisher with a time of 30:21.7 to finish in 38th. Nicolas Morgan finished with a time of 32:00. Robbie Crager finished the race with a time of 34:12.1.
Carter Funk rounded out the finishers for Bethel with a time of 34:41.9.
Only two Thresher women would compete in the Women's 5K race as
Alexandra Mendoza finished with a time of 22:03.6 to finish in 36th place. While
Lynnzey Young finished with a time of 25:30.1 to finish in 69th place.Â
Mauro Campos ran a personal best time in this race. This time was the 10th fastest 8K time in Thresher history.
Both teams will be back on the track on October 23rd as they run in the NAIA Mid-States hosted by Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
