OTTAWA, Kan. - The Bethel College Softball team continued their road trip to begin KCAC play as they took on the Braves of Ottawa University. Bethel dropped both contests of the double dip to the Braves falling 8-0 in game one and 6-1 in game two.

Cynae Wiley started the contest with a single and was able to get into scoring position, but was stranded at third base to end the inning. After a scoreless first inning, Ottawa was able to get on the board in the second inning pushing two runs across. The Braves got a run in each of the next two innings making their lead 4-0 after four innings. Ottawa had their biggest inning of the contest in the fifth as they scored three in the frame to take a 7-0 lead. OU was able to end the contest early by enforcing the run rule with a run in the sixth. Bethel stranded 7 runners on base in the contest four of which were in scoring position.

GAME 2, L 6-1

The Braves struck for a run in the bottom of the first inning of game two. After a scoreless second inning, Ottawa added a run to their total taking a 2-0 advantage into the fourth inning. Despite having a runner in scoring position, Bethel was unable to plate the run as Ottawa escape the threat in the fourth inning. After both teams went scoreless in the fourth, Ottawa doubled their lead with a two-run homerun in the fifth putting them up 4-0. In the top half of the sixth, Bethel finally got on the board when
Marissa Harrison singled to left field. Mendiola pinch ran for Harrison before
Karlie Stephens ripped a double to left scoring Mendiola. In the bottom half of the inning, Ottawa was able to load the bases on their way to scoring two runs. BC was able to get a runner on in the 7th, but weren't able to get much else going.
