WINFIELD, Kan. - The Bethel College softball team earned their first sweep of KCAC play as they earned a pair of run-rule victories over Southwestern.

GAME ONE 9-1 (5 inn.)

The Threshers started off game one hot scoring three runs as Marissa Harrison drove in two runs with a double and Anniston Oylear drove in Harrison. Meehlia Mendiola drove in another run for the Threshers in the second before they exploded for another crooked number in the fourth inning. Katherin Meiries, Ella Caudill, Harrison and Oylear all recorded an RBI in the frame as they opened up an 8-0 lead after four innings. Meiries added another RBI in the top of the fifth before the Moundbuilders scored their lone run in the bottom half.

GAME TWO 14-4 (5 inn.)

Harrison kept up her hot hitting performance as she drove in the Threshers first run in the top of the first inning. Bethel scored six runs in the second inning to open up a 7-0 lead before Southwestern scored three runs in the bottom half. After another run in the third inning, Bethel exploded for another five runs in the fourth inning to take the 13-3 lead after four complete innings. The Moundbuilders scored another run in the bottom of the fourth inning and Bethel answered back with another of their own in the top half of the fifth.

The Threshers will be back in action for a three game homestand to close out the season as they host Evangel on Thursday, April 18th with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM.
