NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader against the Evangel Valor as they began their three day home stand to finish off KCAC play.

GAME ONE, L 6-0

The Threshers were plagued with errors from the jump in game one as one of the runners that scored for the Valor in the frame reach on an error and both runs scored on a two out error in left field. After the first five batters for Bethel were sat down, Anniston Oylear recorded the first hit as she singled to left field in the bottom of the second. Evangel scored a run in each of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings to take game one.

GAME TWO, L 9-0 5 inn.

After a scoreless first inning, the Valor struck for five runs in the top of the second on 4 hits and a Thresher error. Neither team scored in the third inning before Evangel pushed their lead to 6-0 in the fourth. In the top of the fifth, the Valor stretched their lead to 9 with three runs putting the Threshers back against the wall in the bottom half to avoid the run rule. The Threshers were sat down in order with all three striking out to end the contest after five innings.

The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, April 20th as they host the Avila Eagles with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 PM.
