SALINA, Kan. - The Quarterfinals of the KCAC Women's Tennis Tournament was moved indoors due to inclement weather. In the matches that were played at the indoor courts at the Salina Genesis, the Threshers came out victorius over the Saint Mary Spires to advance to the KCAC Semifinals.
The Threshers started out by dropping the doubles point after losing at #1 and #2.
Grace Dawes was the first singles match to finish at #2 as she fell in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 to put the Spires up 2-0.
Jenna Mahoney put BC on the board with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #4.
Halle Krehbiel evened the match at 2 apiece with her 6-2, 7-6(7-4) victory in the third position. With a straight set victory at #5,
Nalea Payton put BC on top in the match as she won 6-2, 6-0.
Patricia Huerta sealed the deal for Bethel as she won 6-0, 6-2 at #6.
Daniela Casique was still in her match when the Threshers clinched as she was trailing in the third 2-0 after winining the first 7-5 and losing the second 7-5.
The Threshers will be back in action tomorrow at 8:00 AM back at the Salina Gensis as they take on the top seeded McPherson Bulldogs.
