SALINA, Kan. – The Bethel College women's tennis team finished the 2026 ITA NAIA Central West Regional Championship on Sunday, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University. Olivia Goldsack and Ximena Raya beat two seeded teams on their way to the doubles semifinals. Daniela Casique and Raya both reached the singles quarterfinals.
Doubles
Goldsack and Raya were unseeded. They opened with an 8-4 win over Saint Mary's Sofia Prepo Recchiuti and Juliana Jurado Mojica. In the Round of 16 they upset the No. 3 seeds, Jewel Henderson and Rocio Espinal of Oklahoma Wesleyan, 8-6.
In Sunday's quarterfinals they beat another seeded team, No. 6 Karen Yibirin Rojas and Adiya Abdugappar of Texas Wesleyan, 8-5. Their run ended in the semifinals with a close 8-6 loss to No. 2 seeds Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall of Morningside.
Casique and Sara Ladino were the No. 8 seeds and won twice. They opened with an 8-4 win over Saint Mary's Maddie Abel and Mia Rojas. Next they edged College of Saint Mary's Callista Uchil and Noel Moreno 9-8 (7). They fell in the quarterfinals to top seeds Seohyeon Jang and Chakira Derman of Concordia, 8-4.
Jireh Gonzalez and Kennedy Baker lost their opener 8-3 to No. 5 Lara Heinrich and Helene Kreibich of Morningside.
Singles
Casique was the No. 4 seed and opened with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Avila's Delaney Thurn. She then beat Oklahoma Wesleyan's Nancy Henderson 6-4, 6-1. Her Round of 16 match was the longest of her weekend. Texas Wesleyan's Karen Yibirin Rojas won the first set in a tiebreaker, but Casique took the second set 6-2 and won the match tiebreak 13-11. In the quarterfinals she lost to No. 12 seed Rocio Espinal of Oklahoma Wesleyan, 6-3, 6-4.
Raya was the No. 7 seed and opened with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Southwestern's Cecilia Driesel. Midland's Ai Katsura took the first set of their next match, but Raya came back to win 2-6, 6-4, 10-6. She then beat No. 10 seed Callista Uchil of College of Saint Mary 6-3, 6-2. In the quarterfinals she lost to No. 2 seed Line Jensen of Morningside, 6-0, 6-4.
Ladino, the No. 15 seed, reached the Round of 16. She beat Saint Mary's Mia Rojas 6-2, 6-2, then outlasted Sterling's Danna Arroyo 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. Jensen ended her tournament 6-4, 6-2.
Goldsack lost 6-4, 7-5 to Baker's Arizbe Espinosa Cornejo. Gonzalez fell to Kansas Wesleyan's Hayden Bellamy, 6-1, 6-2. Camila Lopez drew No. 2 seed Jensen in the opening round and lost 6-0, 6-1.
