KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bethel College women's tennis standout
Daniela Casique earned national recognition after being named an NAIA Second Team All-American following an outstanding season leading the Threshers at the No. 1 singles position.
Casique played a major role in Bethel's historic 2026 campaign, helping guide the Threshers to a 18-4 overall record and an 11-1 conference mark while the team climbed into the top 10 of the national ITA rankings.
Throughout the season, Casique consistently delivered in the top flight against some of the best competition in the region. She earned key victories over nationally respected opponents, including straight-set wins against Concordia's Mariana Molano, 6-0, 6-4, and McPherson's Vanessa Hofer, winning 7-6, 6-1 in one matchup before following it with another dominant 6-3, 6-2 victory later in the season.
Casique also excelled in doubles competition, forming one of Bethel's top pairings alongside Sara Ladino. The duo earned several crucial wins during conference play, including victories against Friends University, McPherson College, and Kansas Wesleyan.
One of Casique's signature performances came during Bethel's 7-0 sweep of Kansas Wesleyan, where she earned a hard-fought No. 1 singles victory in a tiebreak after already helping secure the doubles point.
Her leadership at the top of the lineup helped establish Bethel as one of the premier women's tennis programs in the KCAC and NAIA Central Region. In addition to her All-American recognition, Casique was previously honored as the ITA NAIA Central Region Player to Watch, further cementing her status as one of the rising stars in NAIA tennis.
